LOVING DAY NONPROFIT CAMPAIGN
Before 1967, only 55 years ago, it was illegal in the United States to have an interracial marriage. That was until Mildred and Richard Loving fought for their marriage rights against the Supreme Court after being taken out of their bed and wrongfully jailed. Ruling in their favor, the court showed that love, above all else, has no color preference.
This project is to raise awareness of the freedom we have now due to this little-known struggle we had in our nation’s history. I wanted to create this campaign for EmbraceRace, a nonprofit campaign for educating parents on “raising children in a world where race matters,” a dream still ever so present in our current day and age.
